The Interior Design for the residence began with the central idea of exploring the materiality of wood, stone and fabric. Every element in the residence was designed specific to the user of the space. The theme specific spaces transitioned effortlessly from one space into another. An amalgamation of traditional and contemporary is  very tastefully worked out in fixed and loose furniture. The Residence is for a family primarily into the business of the fisheries, hence the main gathering spaces did have an essence of the aquatic life. The office room showcase the predominant use of walnut wood and ashwood. The elegance of the space is highlighted with the brass world map on the dark walnut wood feature wall with the Office desk and storage on either side with a brass inlay.

The entrance porch on the first floor has an intricate carved traditional frame and door with figures of natural and animal. The living room feature walls were inspired from waves of the ocean with solid wood reapers with fish embellishments, the false ceiling has combination of wood and pop.

The TV room housed the Feature TV unit, concept of shattering glass made of teak veneer.

TEAKWOOD POOJA MANTAP

The pooja unit is intricately carved teak wood work of deities, animal figurines, and traditional craftsmanship. The feature wall by the side of the pooja shows rays of light imitating the radiation ( word to change) of knowledge from a guru who will rest on the sthapathya diwan  under the masterpiece of pillar and frame. The dining also has the indoor pergola with the traditional lights, the brilliant Buddha in the hallway, and the beginning of the brass inlaid baluster.

Bed Room

The bed rooms were designed specifically for every kid at home, exploring materials, colors and making the space playful yet accommodating the future requirements of being young adults. Master bed room was a sober ashwood with white combination and beige leather work. Parent’s room was very traditional solid teak bed, side tables, console and TV units.
