Arjun's Mansion, Dollars Colony
The interior design along with furniture design for the residence began with the central idea of exploring the materiality of solid wood, stone and fabric. An amalgamation of traditional and contemporary is very tastefully worked out through the designs of the fixed and the loose furniture.
The residence is for a family primarily into the fisheries business and hence, the design of the main gathering spaces draw inspiration from marine attributes like cascading waves and ripples. The abundance of various spaces, each having a particular unique function and users, enabled vast design explorations with wood, its textures and complimenting colours, shaping a distinctive feature piece in every space. Every element in the residence was designed to be user specific.
